A origem foi justificada com a necessidade de melhorar a ideia b\u00e1sica ma\u00e7\u00f3nica e um regresso aos marcos, que na altura estavam expostos a uma forte influ\u00eancia do lado comercial em muitas obedi\u00eancias. Muitos ma\u00e7ons j\u00e1 n\u00e3o queriam seguir este tipo de trabalho de loja, que era determinado pela pol\u00edtica e pela influ\u00eancia do poder. Em muitos s\u00edtios, houve uma sa\u00edda ou uma reorienta\u00e7\u00e3o, pareceu necess\u00e1rio construir um novo telhado.<\/p>\n<p>Preservar a forma original da Ma\u00e7onaria e adapt\u00e1-la cuidadosamente \u00e0s exig\u00eancias actuais do nosso tempo resultou, em \u00faltima an\u00e1lise, na funda\u00e7\u00e3o da &#8220;Confedera\u00e7\u00e3o das Grandes Lojas do Mediterr\u00e2neo e do Sul da Europa&#8221; em 2003. Os estatutos da nova confedera\u00e7\u00e3o CGLMES foram finalmente ratificados em Lisboa em 2006.
